Surrounding the house are vineyards, chateaux, wineries, olive groves and pine woods, all explorable by car, foot or the bikes provided with the house. The house is based in the heart of the wine and olive oil producing region of Provence, and most of the Chateaux offer free tastings and many offer tours. A pretty river, which is a short walk away, provides the opportunity for wild swimming in the natural and secluded swimming pools.

The small, fortified, Provencal town of Lorgues is approximately 3km away from the house. With its narrow streets, stone built fountains and church, the town is truly a traditionally beautiful French town.

The town boasts a huge bustling market every Tuesday with fresh food and produce from the local area, including home made cheeses, home made nougat, fresh bread, hot roast chickens and paella, couscous, live fish and oysters, locally produced olives and tapenade, etc, etc. There area stalls selling locally produced perfumed soaps, clothes, handbags, shoes, Provencale linens, gorgeous bedspreads, handmade jewellry, artisan pottery and so on. It is one of the largest markets in the Var.

Lining the main street through the town are a number of lively bars and excellent restaurants, whilst Lorgues also offers the world famous truffle restaurant, 'Bruno's'.

The south coast of St Maxime is a 30 min drive away. Just across from St Maxime, over the bay of St Tropez is the famous fishing village itself now more decorated with the super-yachts of the rich; a great place to go to lunch.

Toulon, Nice and Marseille airports are all approximately an hour away. The local town of Les Arcs has a mainline rail station with trains from Nice and Marseille airports and a TGV train from Paris. Les Arcs is approximately 15 mins from the house.
